Kazi Bari Foundation first began to operate in the early 1980s and1990 organically, funds were usually raised by the word of mouth
by family members from Kazi Bari. Appeals were adhoc, reactive and often piecemeal. Recently technology such as Whats App and other social media platforms has allowed appeals to become more coordinated and more effective.
Our initial mission was to focus on small scale local needs of Kazi Bari and surrounding areas in Sylhet, Bangladesh but soon
morphed in alleviating poverty, improving standards of living and providing food during Ramadan.
The foundation was formally established in 2020 and a registered charity with the UK Charities Commission, in November 2023.
